Governing the agri-food supply chain: how to improve smallholders competitiveness

How can smallholders and their producer organizations design and implement sustainable organizational and managerial solutions to the most pressing challenges they face?

This is what the AGRICOMPET project aims to address in order to invigorate the competitiveness of Mediterranean agri-food businesses by proposing and piloting a menu of innovative governance and marketing solutions.

AGRICOMPET will direct its efforts towards two main ways of improving smallholder competitiveness and strengthening its position in the value chain. These solutions try to deal with the producer fragmentation and the lack of a customer-oriented approach that typically burden the upstream stages of the Mediterranean food supply chain.

AGRICOMPET is a project of the PRIMA programme.

PRIMA programme is supported by Horizon 2020, the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
