The conferece will take place at la Vielle Perrotine, a holiday resort of CAES of CNRS. It is situated in the Saint Pierre d'Oleron Community. This resort has an extension of 37 hectares placed inside a protected area, and it has two ponds, one heated pool with Jacuzzi, and a forest with a direct access to the ocean and to the gulf of Oleron. Oléron, named “the bright” is the largest of the French islands on the Atlantic Ocean (175 km2 ). Its beaches of thin sand invite to relax. It is a true paradise for the lovers of sailing, surfing, windsurfing, but also for sand yachts and kayaking. For those not so attracted by the ocean, the island offers numerous forests and marshes where there is a large variety of flora and fauna. It is also an exceptional heritage where fortresses, churches and marine monuments are found together, local architecture such as the Oléron and Brouage Castle Citadels or the very popular Fort Boyard.

In summary, a place suitable both for work and relaxation.












The resort has 5 rooms capable of hosting from 15 to 200 people. The rooms are furnished with projection devices, microphones, poster boards and WIFI access to internet.










There are several accommodation options, ranging from individual accommodation (with own bathroom or in a cottage sharing a bathroom) to appartments for up to six people. There are apartments and houses for 4 to 6 people and mobile homes for 4 to 5 people.

These facilities are usually for families on holidays and offer several advantages for the organization of conferences.

Some facilities have been adapted for handicapped people, and there is some extra equipment such as adapted bicycles, wheelcairs and “bath carts”.

Bed linnens and towels are taken care by the personnel of the resort and included in the price.



The dining room has a capacity of 200 people. The bar adjacent to the restaurant and the conference rooms is the perfect place for gathering. The ensemble constitutes the core of the resort and it is where all the meals are prepared as well as all the coffee breaks and the animation activities.



The resort offers many ammenities:


  • There is an open air heated pool whith a slide and Jacuzzi open from April till October (with umbrellas and chairs available).
  • Two tennis courts and a Wall
  • A petanque field.
  • A beach volley court.
  • A multisports space for volley, hand-ball and basket-ball.
  • Several table tennis tables .
  • There are balls and rackets available upon request
  • There are also bicycles available upon request
  • Rowing is also possible at the ponds of the resort.
  • A private path allows the access to the beach and to the oister facilities of Fort Royer (Natural reserve)
