Prof. Dr. Enrique J. Dede obtained his PhD in Electronics from the University of Valencia.

Full Professor in Power Electronics at the University of Valencia since 1991 and R&D Director at the company GH Electrotermia S.A.

Dr. Dede holds several international patents on high frequency inverters for induction heating and has written more than 200 papers in the field of Power Electronics.

He has more than 30 years experience in the field of Power Electronics and particularly in the design of high frequency inverters for induction heating, telecom power and recently in the conception and design of fast DC chargers for EV´s.

Prof. Dede was former member of the European Working Group of the IAS-IEEE, past President of the joint Spanish IEEE Chapter of the Power Electronics Society (PELS) and Industrial Electronics Society (IES) and was the General Chair of the European Power Electronics Conference-EPE 2009, held in Barcelona (Spain).

Dr. Dede is actually serving as the Vice- President of the European Power Electronics Association (EPE) and he is member of the International Advisory Board of the PCIM-Europe and PCIM-Asia.

Ignacio Dizy works at the Marketing Department promoting ICT innovation initiatives among clients and the Telefónica’s product development and technical and research organizations. He proposes mid-term new business models and ICT services to be closely developed with clients.

He is Co-leader along with Corporate Climate Change Office of the Telefonica’s Electric Vehicle Task Force.

He started his career at Chile´s CIMM Research Center and Automind as Knowledge Engineer developing expert systems.

He directed the research center’s ICT Department improving its whole IT infrastructures and Internet. Changing form IT Management , he became Business Process and IT Development consultant for Big Corporations at QUAM.

He enrolled in Telefonica´s Year 2000 Effect Product Certification Team. When the effect was finished, Ignacio coordinated and executed many mobile and fixed process development projects in the Telecom Sector Professional Services Department in Telefonica mobile Solution.

From 2006 till 2010, he designed and coordinated IT bids and projects for Telefonica Corporate Clients. Actually is at Marketing with its focus on innovation.

Juan Jose Moreno-Navarro holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in 1989.

Since 1996 is Full Professor at the Department of Languages and Systems at the UPM. He is currently senior researcher at IMDEA-Software (Madrid Research Institute in Software Development Technologies).

His main area of scientific activity focuses on all aspects of declarative technology and software development. On these issues, he has obtained numerous publications in high international level conferences, books and journals. He has also participated and led several national and international research projects. He has organized, served as member in editorial boards and program, and given lectures and invited talks at numerous conferences and journals in the field of IT.

Regarding the management of science and university life, he has been Director General for University Policy (Ministry of Education, 2009-2012), Director General for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Development (Ministry of Science and Innovation, Secretary General for Innovation , 2009) and Director General of Planning and Coordination (Ministry of Science and Innovation, Secretary of State of Research, 2008-2009).

In that period, he was chair of the National Committee for Research Activity Evaluation, has led the implementation of numerous research and technology infrastructures, has been secretary of the University Council and General Council of Science and Technology, member of the management board of the following foundations: ANECA, Menendez Pelayo University-UIMP (Vice-chair), CENER-CIEMAT, Universidad.es, member of the Governing Board of CSIC, ISCIII, IDAE (2nd vice-chair) and member of several ministerial committees (Climate Change, International Humanitarian Right, Genetically Modified Organisms, Higher Statistical Council, Advisory Committee for information and public participation of Nuclear Safety Council, etc.).

Entre 2001-2006 cooperó con el Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia donde ha sido responsable del programa de investigación sobre TIC durante 3 años y responsable de las relaciones internacionales del área TIC, miembro del comité de IST del 6º Programa Marco de la UE y punto de contacto nacional español, miembro del comité TIC de COST.

Between 2001-2006, he cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Science, where he was responsible for the ICT research program for 3 years and responsible for international relations in the ICT area, committee member of the IST 6th Framework Programme of the EU, Spanish National Contact Point for FP7, and member of the ICT committee of COST.

He is currently the Chair of the Spanish Society for Software Engineering, has been director of SpaRCIM (Spanish Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics), member of ERCIM (European Research Consortium on Informatics and Mathematics), Vice-chair for Communication in the Spanish Technology Platform on Software and Services INES. He is chair of the Spanish Conference on Computer Science (CEDI) 2013 and was chairman of the Scientific Committee of CEDI 2005 and 2007.

Dr Jaime Arau Roffiel was born in Veracruz, Mexico, in 1960 and received the B.Sc. degree in electronic engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Minatitlan, Minatitlan, Mexico, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1982 and 1991, respectively.

He is Professor of the National Center for Research and Technological Development (CENIDET), located in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where he has teached and conducted research in the area of power electronics.

His fields of interest are power factor correction, power quality, electronics ballasts, and power converter for non conventional energy sources and he has published more than 150 papers in international journal and conferences, supervised 8 PhD and 40 MSc thesis, and conducted more than 20 industrial and government sponsored projects.

He is currently serving as Vice-minister for Scientific Research of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Morelos, MEXICO.

Dr. Arau was the recipient of the IEEE 3rd Millennium Medal and he was the founding President of the IEEE Morelos (Mexico) Section-Power Electronics Chapter and the Mexican Power Electronics Society (SOMEP). Inside PELS AdCom, he has served as Region No. 9 Liason, Member at Large and Chapters Coordinator.

He was the General Chair of the IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference – PESC’03 in Acapulco, Mexico and has been technical reviewer since 1995 of several major conferences (PESC, APEC, etc.) and journals (IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications).

He is member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (since 1999) and the Morelos Academy of Sciences (since 2003), as well as member of the Mexican Researchers System (since 1992). He is part of several councils for science and technology in Mexico.

Doctor in Electrochemistry at the University of Madrid, joined Tudor Group (now Exide Technologies) in 1977 and served as Development Director for the Industrial division in Azuqueca (Spain) and Soest (Germany), then Director R&D laboratories in France and Spain.

In the actual position, he is responsible for Research and Development of new automotive products in the Exide European division.

Author of about 60 papers and presentations on battery technology and more than 20 patents. Spanish native, he also speaks French and English.

Recently he was nominated as battery expert for the European Commission to evaluate projects inside the 7th Framework program and is acting as the Exide representative for advanced batteries in Eurobat association and Green Car initiative.

Marina S. Perdigão (S'06) was born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1978.

She received the M.Sc. Degree and Ph.D. both in Electrical Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2004 and 2012 respectively.

She works at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Superior Institute of Engineering of Coimbra, Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra since 2002, first as an assistant professor and since 2012 as a lecturer.

She is also a researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Coimbra, Portugal since 2001.

From 2006 to 2012 she conducted her Ph.D. work in the University of Coimbra in co-operation with the University of Oviedo,Spain.

Born in Saint-Martin d'Hères (France) in 1972, and holds a Master and PhD focusing on High Frequencies Electronics and Optoelectronics from Sciences Department of Limoges University, in 1998 and 2002.

He published about ferrite strontium thin films for magnetic applications but his main focus area work is in pulsed laser deposition of niobate lithium thin films used for optical telecommunications.

From 2004 to 2010 he worked as Research Engineer for the National Research Institute of Agronomy in Bioemco Lab. (Paris, France) dealing with the development and maintenance of technology around water isotopic tools for agronomy and weather predictive models.

In 2010, he joined the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and work in LAPLACE Lab., "Light & Matter" Team where his research focused on powerless light sources as LED and OLED with special interest in aging degradation mechanisms.

He is especially interested in the physics of electrical discharges used as light sources; system and metrology issues for solid-state lighting systems; normalization and quality issues for light sources; impact of lighting to energy, environment, quality of life, health and security; interaction between light source and associated power supply; illumination and lighting.

He is director of “Light & Matter” research group of LAPLACE that enrols 20 researchers.

For the period 2007-2011 he was deputy director of “LAPLACE” laboratory.

He won in December 2006 the 1st Award of the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) Centenary Challenge for his work on normalization for urban lighting systems (in conjunction with IEEE, IET and the Observer).

In 2009 he won the Energy Globe Award for France and he got the Fresnel Medal from the French Illuminating Engineering Society.
