Placement tests and exams
On the first day of the course students are required to do a written
and oral test which has been carefully prepared in order to determine their degree
of knowledge of the Spanish language and their corresponding group placement.
Assessments are repeated periodically in order to measure and monitor the progress
of the group and each of its members. Students have a personal interview with
their lecturers to comment on the results. The last days in the course are reserved
for the final exams.
Diplomas and Certificates of
the University of Oviedo
The University of
Oviedo issues students participating in its courses with a Diploma or Certificate
of Attendance and Performance. In order to obtain this Diploma students are required
to attend at least 90% of classes. The certificate details the Course in which
the student registered, the level, course hours and the exam mark.

registration fee is inclusive of the didactic material, the cost of
the social, cultural and recreational activities organised by the Course and the
University Student Card enabling access to the University sports, library and
computer facilities in the same conditions as Spanish students.

Registration
1.To register students must send the documents below to La Casa de las Lenguas, Campus de "El Milán", C/ Teniente Alfonso Martínez s/n, Planta Baja , E -33011 Oviedo (Asturias), SPAIN:
A duly completed Registration Form
Bank
document proving the payment of the registration fees (copy of the transfer or
payment slip indicating direct payment in Oviedo).
Photocopy
of passport or Identity Document.

of Medical Insurance (The University will provide the necessary information for
students still with no cover).
2. Registration fees will be paid by bank
transfer to the following account:

Note: the student´s name and the concept "Cursos de Español
para Extranjeros" must be stated. Students are urged to check that the
amount transferred is free of bank charges and commissions.
3. It is
necessary to send a deposit of €200 in order to reserve a place in each
of the programmed courses (three-month, six-month or annual) within 15 days prior
to the course starting date.
4. Should students cancel the courses before
their starting date, they will be returned the amounts paid minus €100 for
handling charges. Once courses have begun no refunds will be made in any case.
Other
observations of interest
Maximum of 20 students in the Spanish Language classes.
All
classes are taught in Spanish and last for 50 minutes.
Each
student will receive a student card allowing them free access to the
University sport, library and computer facilities upon the same conditions as
Spanish students.
Classes
are delivered at the Faculty of Philology, in "El Milán" Humanities
Campus (shared with the Faculties of History and Philosophy). Classes will be
held preferably in the mornings, following the academic calendar governing all
the University.
Any subject offered at the advanced level might be cancelled if not chosen
by at least 8 students.
The Oficina de Relaciones Internacionales promotes activities in order to integrate foreign students´ into Campus life and in Oviedo: buddying local students, conversation exchange partners...
Further information will be provided by the “Servicio de
Atención al Estudiante” of the International Office,
from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Similarly, the “Secretaría de los Cursos de
Español para Extranjeros” is also available to students on the ground floor of La Casa de las Lenguas.
On the first day of the Course, during the reception, students
will be provided with specific information about timetables,
complementary activities, lecture halls, subjects, exam and assignment system, the Spanish grading system, etc.
