The Crystallography and the Crystalline Growth, as disciplines that deal with the study of tidy materials, group a wide spectrum of theories and techniques that allow us to advance in the knowledge of the properties of the matter.

Its development as science, fundamentally in the 20th century, has left a very deep track with his more than 20 Nobel prizes and its extraordinary contribution to the development of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geology, Medicine or Material Science.

The Crystallography faces the 21st century with new challenges in fields as the nanotecnología, the biological giant systems or the femtochemistry, between others, using for it new methodologies and new sources of radiation, such as 4th generation synchrotron radiation or neutron spallation.

The education and postgraduates'training in Crystallography will be likewise a fundamental objective of our group.
