The work of the Cognitive Neuroscience research group is focused on questions about language and memory. The group is headed by Prof. Fernando Cuetos. The research group has particular strengths in the use of cognitive experimental techniques - employing measures of reaction time, accuracy, and evoked response potentials - in the investigation of the language skills of adults and children, both healthy adults and normally developing children, as well as adult patients referred to us following brain injury or the diagnosis of dementing illness, and children presenting specific language difficulties. It is one of the overarching aims of the group to apply the findings yielded in our work to the development of diagnostic tests and therapeutic approaches for the identification and treatment of language problems. In our work, we collaborate with a number of scientists
based in several centres. Principal collaborators include the members
of the
Marie Curie Research and Training Network: Language and Brain. |
