On floor V of the Research Building in Mieres Campus we have two laboratories for the extraction and separation of samples, a microscopy laboratory, a molecular genetics laboratory, a GIS laboratory, workshops as well as a meeting room and offices.
We also have a unit for massive captive breeding and experimental manipulation of amphibians and fishes, equipped with state-of-the-art biomedical facilities, and the only one in Europe in the field of ecophysiology and pathology of wild organisms.
The IMIB also has an office in Pola de Somiedo, in the Cantabrian mountains. Pola de Somiedo is the capital of the Somiedo county and harbors the headquarters of the Natural Park of the same name.
