  • Human-wildlife conflict
  • Ecology and ethology of large carnivores

The aim of my PhD project is to study large carnivore attacks on humans on a worldwide scale. By investigating the role of several factors (e.g. human and carnivore attributes, landscape characteristics, time of the day) on the occurrence of such events and by comparing scenarios of attacks in different contexts (e.g. developed vs. less developed countries), I aim at contributing to a better and comprehensive understanding of this complex phenomenon and at providing useful information in order to reduce human-carnivore conflicts.

I also collaborate with the Cantabrian Brown Bear Research Group (www.cantabrianbrownbear.org)
