Descubrir nuevos metabolitos secundarios es cr\u00edtico en la biomedicina, y la \u00fanica manera de hacerlo, es reanudar el cribado de cepas naturales. Los \u00faltimos descubrimientos sobre la diferenciaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<em>Streptomyces<\/em>\u00a0son cruciales para optimizar la detecci\u00f3n de nuevos metabolitos secundarios, reduciendo la incidencia de falsos negativos.<\/p>\n<p>En BIONUC hemos desarrollado plataformas para la producci\u00f3n industrial de diversos metabolitos bioactivos en\u00a0<em>Streptomyces<\/em>, como p\u00e9ptidos no ribos\u00f3micos (el antitumoral tiocoralina); p\u00e9ptidos sensores para la detecci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas espec\u00edficas; y diversos estilbenoides y flavonoides con actividades antitumorales y antiinflamatorias. Estos polifenoles son muy interesantes como nutrac\u00e9uticos y como compuestos bioactivos para coterapia, especialmente en el carcinoma de mama y el de pr\u00f3stata. El objetivo es aislar los nuevos compuestos bioactivos, descubrir sus v\u00edas biosint\u00e9ticas, y generar derivados con propiedades farmacol\u00f3gicas mejoradas.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestro grupo tambi\u00e9n desarrolla estrategias para la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer colorrectal. En colaboraci\u00f3n con varias empresas, hemos desarrollado productos funcionales prebi\u00f3ticos de carne, que protegen frente al carcinoma colorrectal.
