Su actividad profesional actual es la Jefatura del Laboratorio de Oncolog\u00eda Molecular del Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias, cargo al que accedi\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 2004 para la instauraci\u00f3n de este Laboratorio, siendo actualmente el de referencia para toda la red sanitaria p\u00fablica de Asturias, como apoyo en el diagn\u00f3stico molecular de c\u00e1ncer. Los estudios de investigaci\u00f3n del equipo han estado dirigidos a la b\u00fasqueda de marcadores para ser incorporados al laboratorio asistencial, bien con proyectos propios, bien participando mediante colaboraciones con otros grupos. El trabajo anterior (1993-2004) se centr\u00f3, como investigadora postdoctoral en la Universidad de Oviedo en el equipo del Dr. L\u00f3pez Ot\u00edn, en estudios relacionados con c\u00e1ncer, clonaci\u00f3n de genes murinos hom\u00f3logos de metaloproteasas humanas y creaci\u00f3n de modelos animales para el estudio de estas proteasas.
