Regulaci\u00f3n de canales i\u00f3nicos por esteroides sexuales en modelos celulares tumorales y papel de las poliaminas en c\u00e9lulas perif\u00e9ricas como marcadores de procesos inflamatorios y tumorales.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Se estudian los mecanismos implicados en la regulaci\u00f3n no gen\u00f3mica de la funcionalidad de canales i\u00f3nicos, en l\u00edneas celulares de tumores hormonodependientes, en relaci\u00f3n con su acci\u00f3n secretora y proliferativa. Estableciendo en canales maxi-K la influencia de las prote\u00ednas reguladoras en sus efectos, para intentar establecer la selectividad de respuesta tisular.<\/p>\n<p>Por otra parten, alteraciones en el metabolismo de poliaminas se relacionan con procesos proliferativos, incluyendo diversos tumores. Esto ha llevado a estudiar el efecto de inhibidores de la homeostasis de poliaminas como agentes antitumorales. Estos compuestos podr\u00edan alterar procesos fisiol\u00f3gicos en otras c\u00e9lulas del organismo, como la cardiotoxicidad descrita para otros antineopl\u00e1scos. Evaluaci\u00f3n de nuevas estrategias para el tratamiento del dolor neopl\u00e1sico en modelos experimentales de c\u00e1ncer de hueso.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Otra de las l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n de nuestro grupo trabaja en la farmacolog\u00eda del dolor y forma el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n de la Universidad de Oviedo \u201cFarmadex\u201d. Desde el inicio de la actividad del IUOPA, la l\u00ednea preferente es el estudio de mecanismos analg\u00e9sicos en modelos animales de dolor oncol\u00f3gico. Complementando este abordaje, parte de la actividad se orienta a la exploraci\u00f3n de la farmacolog\u00eda b\u00e1sica de mol\u00e9culas relacionadas con el dolor tumoral y, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, se ha centrado el inter\u00e9s en el estudio de las quimiocinas, un grupo de mediadores de la respuesta inmune que modulan la integraci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales nociceptivas. Por otra parte, se ha generado una interacci\u00f3n eficaz con la Unidad del Dolor del HUCA para intentar trasladar a la cl\u00ednica determinadas estrategias analg\u00e9sicas. Aunque la mayor\u00eda del trabajo se realiza en el \u00e1rea de Farmacolog\u00eda de la Universidad de Oviedo hemos tenido colaborado con laboratorios reconocidos en el estudio y desarrollo de analg\u00e9sicos (Dr. B.P. Roques, Par\u00eds; Dr. C. Stein, Berl\u00edn; Dr. A.
