fusion-text-2\"><p>Para ello se utilizan t\u00e9cnicas de ingenier\u00eda gen\u00e9tica aplicadas a microorganismos para el aislamiento y caracterizaci\u00f3n de los agrupamientos g\u00e9nicos implicados en la bios\u00edntesis de compuestos antitumorales y su posterior manipulaci\u00f3n. Esta manipulaci\u00f3n consiste en t\u00e9rminos generales en procesos de inactivaci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica y en la expresi\u00f3n de genes de dos o m\u00e1s rutas de bios\u00edntesis distintas en el microorganismo productor de un compuesto antitumoral. La finalidad de esta tecnolog\u00eda, denominada \u00abBios\u00edntesis Combinatoria\u00bb, es la generaci\u00f3n de nuevas mol\u00e9culas con caracter\u00edsticas estructurales diferentes a los fusion-text-3\"><p>En la actualidad se est\u00e1 trabajando tambi\u00e9n en la identificaci\u00f3n y aislamiento de nuevos antitumorales producidos por actinomicetos aislados a partir de hormigas cortadoras de hojas, procedentes de Per\u00fa. En esta l\u00ednea se est\u00e1n secuenciando genomas de estos actinomicetos para la activaci\u00f3n, mediante manipulaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica, de agrupamientos g\u00e9nicos que por sus caracter\u00edsticas estructurales puedan determinar la producci\u00f3n de nuevas mol\u00e9culas antitumorales silenciadas en las condiciones est\u00e1ndar de crecimiento bacteriano utilizadas en el laboratorio.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>Por otro lado, son objeto tambi\u00e9n de estudio las rutas metab\u00f3licas y los sistemas de regulaci\u00f3n implicados en la Tras una estancia postdoctoral (1997-2000) en la School of Pharmacy de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison (Estados unidos), se reincorpora a la Universidad de Oviedo con un contrato de investigador en el Instituto Universitario de Oncolog\u00eda del Principado de Asturias (IUOPA). Posteriormente, tras obtener una plaza de Profesor Ayudante Doctor en la Universidad de Oviedo, obtiene en 2021 una plaza de Profesor Titular de Microbiolog\u00eda en la misma universidad. Forma parte, desde su inicio, del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n \u201cBios\u00edntesis de compuestos bioactivos por microorganismos (BIOMIC)\u201d de la Universidad de Oviedo.
