margin-left:0px!important;}}<\/style><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"font-size:20px;margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:31px;margin-left:0px;\"><h2 class=\"title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;font-size:1em;letter-spacing:0px;--fontSize:20;--minFontSize:20px;line-height:1.3;\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto Slab;\">Un reciente art\u00edculo en la revista cient\u00edfica Leukemia ha demostrado que un tipo de leucemia mieloide aguda infantil puede originarse durante el desarrollo fetal. <\/span><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><div class=\"article-text-highlight\">\n<div class=\"ft-helper-closenews\">\n<p>El trabajo ha sido fruto de la colaboraci\u00f3n entre miembros del Instituto de Oncolog\u00eda de la Universidad de Oviedo (IUOPA), el Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n contra la Leucemia Josep Carreras, la Universidad de Barcelona y el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica en Red C\u00e1ncer (CIBERONC), liderados por Xose S. Puente, Tal\u00eda Velasco y Pablo Men\u00e9ndez.<\/p>\n<p>La disponibilidad de c\u00e9lulas de cord\u00f3n umbilical de este paciente de s\u00f3lo cinco meses llev\u00f3 al equipo a identificar las mutaciones en la muestra tumoral para, despu\u00e9s, tratar de determinar si ya se encontraban en c\u00e9lulas precursoras del cord\u00f3n. As\u00ed, mediante t\u00e9cnicas de medicina de precisi\u00f3n, se encontr\u00f3 que una de las alteraciones (una translocaci\u00f3n entre los cromosomas 7 y 12) ya exist\u00eda en dichas c\u00e9lulas, mientras que tras el nacimiento se produjo, adem\u00e1s, una trisom\u00eda del cromosoma 19, aumentando la malignidad de estas c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo, adem\u00e1s, aborda no s\u00f3lo el origen temporal de estos tumores, sino que identifica un nuevo mecanismo molecular que provoca la activaci\u00f3n de <em>MNX1<\/em>, un gen frecuentemente alterado en estos
