Tambi\u00e9n aprovech\u00f3 la ocasi\u00f3n para alabar \u201cla calidad cient\u00edfica del IUOPA\u201d y puntualiz\u00f3 que \u00a0\u201cEspa\u00f1a es un pa\u00eds atractivo para la ciencia\u201d<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2012, Charpentier y Doudna publicaron en la revista\u00a0<em>Science<\/em>\u00a0el desarrollo de esta t\u00e9cnica de edici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica que, utilizando una prote\u00edna llamada Cas9, permite localizar y cortar fragmentos del ADN. Funciona\u00a0<strong>como una \u201ctijera molecular\u201d capaz de<\/strong>\u00a0corregir, borrar, a\u00f1adir o sustituir secuencias del genoma.
