{"id":155,"date":"2019-02-07T19:48:47","date_gmt":"2019-02-07T19:48:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unioviedo.es\/TBR\/wp\/?page_id=155"},"modified":"2023-06-02T08:13:41","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T08:13:41","slug":"group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.unioviedo.es\/TBR\/group\/","title":{"rendered":"The Group"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Group of Tecnology\nof Bioprocesss and Reactors &nbsp;(TBR) of the\nUniversity of Oviedo started its activity in 1986, focusing mainly on four\nresearch lines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A- <strong>Bioeconomy resources<\/strong>: Biomass benefit, and revalorization of\nwastes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>B- <strong>Water treatment and management<\/strong>: Contaminants removal, and sludge\nand w\u00e1ter management<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C- <strong>Food and fermentation:<\/strong> New food products and technology, products\nobtentions by fermentation (and hydrolysis)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D- <strong>Materials:<\/strong> Preparation and application of new materials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Mission and View\nof the Group<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong><em>Mission<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is\nto effectively integrate learning, research\nand engagement, generating scientific and technological knowledge useful\nfor a sustainable development of society, reinforcing\neducation-society ties to enhance research efficiency; maximizing &nbsp;the proficiency of adding value to research\nproducts and developing&nbsp; highly skilled scientists and engineers in\nprocesses and bioprocesses <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>The&nbsp;<strong><em>View<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>To generate the knowledge basis on enginering processes and bioprocesses through\napplied Research, compressing training, innovation and technology transfer<\/li><li>To use this knowledge to generate innovations in Chemical Engineering,\nEnvironmental Technology and Bioprocesses<\/li><li>To confer the postgraduate and PhD students with the knowledge and skills\nto pursue a successful career in academia, industry or society <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4>Scientific background<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the last years\n(2014-2019), its scientific background can be summarized in more than 100 JCR\npublications, 8 presented Doctoral Thesis and 10 currently guided Doctoral Thesis,\n22 contracts with companies, and more than a hundred presentations at\ninternational congresses.
