Methodology

The rules of subject Advanced Microelectronics are based on the following points:

ASSESSMENT

In order to get a pass in this subject, students will have to hand in hand in a practical exercise and show its correct performance in the lab. This work will determine the final qualification. This work can be carried out in groups of maximum 4 students, each of which will be in charge of a specific task within the overall work. The performance of the block assigned to each student, together with group self-evaluation, will allow the examiner to provide individual qualifications

Alternative

Those students who prove themselves unable to successfully fulfill the work required, may ask for a  theoretical evaluation of their work. This would only cover 70% of the final qualification, the remaining 30% being provided by an additional theoretical exam. All kind of documentation (class notes, books, datasheets, manuals, ...) would be allowed during this exam.

As far as practical sessions are concerned, assistance is not compulsory. Nevertheless, it is highly advisable to carry out the exercises proposed in these sessions and have them delivered to the subject responsible.

OTHER

All the material required to follow this subject is available at the virtual education platform of Universidad de Oviedo (CAMPUS virtual).

Students are advised to periodically visit their e-mail accounts (those facilitated by University of Oviedo), for this service might be used by the teacher to inform of changes in the timetable, availability of exam results, exercises request, etc. This official e-mail account will be the only one used by the subject lecturer.
