CEPA Gij\u00f3n – Centro de Educaci\u00f3n de Personas Adultas (Spain)<\/h1>\n

This is one of 11 schools in Asturias. In this region are more than 11.000 students in this kind of centres.<\/p>\n

CEPA Center for Adult Education (Gijon) is a public education centre located in Asturias, on the north coast of Spain. It depends on the Ministry of Education and Culture of Asturias and is included in the education sector \u00abLifelong Learning\u00bb. It is headquartered in Gij\u00f3n, its economic structure is based on services and industry. It was created by the Royal Decree of 4 September 1981 (BOE of 22 October 1981), and has been changing its educational offerings and their catchments areas. Today we have a headquarters in Pumar\u00edn Alto where all courses are developed. Another smaller headquarters is located in the neighbourhood of La Calzada. The centre also has two classrooms included in its scope: Carre\u00f1o and Villaviciosa. This institution involves every year more than 3000 people adult students.<\/p>\n

Regarding the social context CEPA acts in Gij\u00f3n in working-class neighbourhoods, where there are pockets of people with significant training needs arising from school failure, unemployment, disability and the influx of immigrants. Carre\u00f1o has been trying to make up for the loss of vitality of the fishing industry and increased tourism and services. In Villaviciosa, after a thriving service sector, there is still a remarkable combination of agriculture and industry, while it becomes in a rapid urban expansion area.<\/p>\n

These councils are demographically aged, but have a positive net migration. Gij\u00f3n is growing for almost two decades; Villaviciosa and Carre\u00f1o are stopped their demographic loss recently and have stabilized their population.<\/p>\n

Our centre has a staff of 28 teachers. Our courses offered aim social inclusion through the training of citizens. By this reason we also collaborate with the Employment Service to promote reemployment. The CEPA Gij\u00f3n offers the following courses:<\/p>\n

      • Courses in all areas of e.learning: Aula Mentor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The educational activities of the Centre are taking place during the mornings, afternoons and evenings. We have therefore a wide range of timetables to facilitate access of students to different formations and activities.<\/p>\n

        We consider that the social changes constantly reformulated us as Centre for Adult Education. This factor determines and modifies the training offered and by this reason we become new opportunity centres helping an adult population that demands permanent qualifications and skills, to gain access to the various teachings of the education system in a European society of knowledge.<\/p>\n

        CEPA GIJ\u00d3N (Espa\u00f1ol)<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

        Es uno de los 11 centros p\u00fablicos existentes de Asturias. En esta regi\u00f3n hay m\u00e1s de 11.000 estudiantes en este tipo de centros educativos.<\/em><\/p>\n

        El CEPA de Gij\u00f3n es un centro p\u00fablico de educaci\u00f3n localizado en Asturias, en la costa norte de Espa\u00f1a. Depende de la Consejer\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n y Cultura de Asturias y se encuadra en el sector educativo \u00abAprendizaje Permanente\u00bb. Tiene su sede en Gij\u00f3n, una ciudad con estructura econ\u00f3mica basada en los servicios y la industria. Fue creado por el 2.366\/1981, de 4 de septiembre (BOE de 22 de octubre) (BOE de 22 de octubre de 1981), y ha ido variando su oferta educativa y sus zonas de actuaci\u00f3n. Hoy disponemos de una sede principal en Pumar\u00edn Alto donde se desarrollan todas las formaciones. Otra sede de menor tama\u00f1o se ubica en el barrio de La Calzada. El Centro implica actualmnente m\u00e1s de 3000 alumnos\/as cada a\u00f1o, y cuenta adem\u00e1s con otras dos aulas incluidas en su \u00e1mbito de actuaci\u00f3n: Carre\u00f1o y Villaviciosa.<\/em><\/p>\n

        Respecto al contexto social el CEPA act\u00faa en Gij\u00f3n en barrios obreros, donde hay bolsas de poblaci\u00f3n con importantes necesidades formativas surgidas del fracaso escolar, el paro, la discapacidad y la afluencia de inmigrantes. El concejo de Carre\u00f1o se esfuerza desde hace tiempo por compensar la p\u00e9rdida de vitalidad del sector pesquero y el envejecimiento de la sociedad con un incremento de la actividad tur\u00edstica y de servicios. En Villaviciosa, tras un pujante sector servicios, a\u00fan existe una destacable combinaci\u00f3n de actividad agr\u00edcola e industrial, al tiempo que su capital se convierte en zona de r\u00e1pida expansi\u00f3n urbana. Estos concejos est\u00e1n envejecidos demogr\u00e1ficamente, pero presentan un saldo migratorio positivo. Gij\u00f3n crece desde hace casi dos d\u00e9cadas; Carre\u00f1o y Villaviciosa detuvieron su p\u00e9rdida demogr\u00e1fica hace poco y han estabilizado su poblaci\u00f3n. Nuestro centro cuenta con una plantilla de 28 profesores y profesoras. Los cursos que se ofrecen pretenden la inclusi\u00f3n social a trav\u00e9s de la formaci\u00f3n de ciudadanos. Por lo que tambi\u00e9n se colabora con el servicio de empleo para favorecer la reinserci\u00f3n laboral. El CEPA de Gij\u00f3n ofrece los siguientes cursos:<\/em><\/p>\n

              La actuaci\u00f3n educativa del Centro se desarrolla en horarios de ma\u00f1ana, tarde y noche; disponemos, pues, de un abanico amplio de horarios para facilitar el acceso del alumnado a las distintas formaciones y actividades. Tenemos en cuenta que los cambios sociales producidos nos reformulan permanentemente como Centros de Educaci\u00f3n de Personas Adultas. Este factor condiciona y modifica la oferta formativa a impartir y nos convertir\u00e1 en centros de nueva oportunidad al servicio de una poblaci\u00f3n adulta que demanda opciones permanentes de titulaci\u00f3n y cualificaci\u00f3n, para lograr el acceso a las distintas ense\u00f1anzas del sistema educativo en una sociedad que avanza en conocimiento.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
