Enrique Zuazua Iriondo <\/strong>(Basque Country \u2013 Spain, 1961) holds the Chair of Dynamics, Control, Machine Learning and Numerics \u2013 Alexander von Humboldt Professorship<\/a> at FAU- Friedrich\u2013Alexander University, Erlangen\u2013N\u00fcrnberg (Germany), and secondary appointments at Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid and the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\u00a0research in\u00a0Applied Mathematics covers\u00a0topics\u00a0in\u00a0Partial Differential Equations, Systems Control, Numerical Analysis\u00a0and Machine Learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of the Basque Country, and a dual PhD degree from the same university (1987) and the Universit\u00e9 Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris (1988). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been awarded the\u00a0Euskadi (Basque Country) Prize for Science and Technology 2006,\u00a0the Spanish National Julio Rey Pastor Prize 2007,\u00a0the Advanced Grants NUMERIWAVES in 2010,\u00a0DyCon<\/a>\u00a0in 2016\u00a0and CoDeFeL in 2023 of\u00a0the European Research Council (ERC) and the\u00a0SIAM W.T. and Idalia Reid Prize 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is an honorary member of the of Academia Europaea<\/a> and Doctor Honoris Causa from the Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine<\/a> in France and Ambassador of the Friedrisch-Alexandre University<\/a> in Erlangen-Nurenberg, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was an invited speaker at ICM2006 in the section on Control and Optimization.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
