She graduated and gained her PhD in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Salamanca. Specialist in medical translation in German-Spanish and with professional experience as a translator, reviewer and proof-reader, she worked as a junior lecturer at the Translation and Interpreting Department in Salamanca and works since 2013 at the University of Oviedo, where she teaches German language and Translation. Her research focuses on specialised translation, mainly in the medical field, science reception in nineteenth-century Spain and the use of translation as a didactic tool in second-language learning. Her recent publications include articles on literary translation, such as \u201cGerman intercultural literature translated into Spanish (1950-2018)\u201d (Trans, Revista de Traductolog\u00eda 2019<\/em>) or book chapters on medical translation and the language of medicine, such as \u201cScientific and medical translation\u201d in the Routledge Handbook of Spanish Translation Studies<\/em>, \u201cMedical Spanish\u201d in Peter Lang\u2019s Les langes de la m\u00e9decine<\/em> or works on the transmission of medical research through translation in history, such as her recent chapter in the Routledge Handbook of Translation and Health<\/em>.<\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n At the moment she is involved in two research projects related to medicine and medical humanities: \u201cEND: Illness in the Age of Extinction.
