Topics
Quantum Information has emerged as one of the most dynamic and interdisciplinary areas of contemporary research, bringing together mathematics, physics, computer science, and engineering. Encompassing quantum computation, quantum communication and cryptography, quantum error correction, it provides a unifying framework for understanding how information can be processed, transmitted, and manipulated according to the principles of quantum mechanics.
This special session aims to bring together researchers working on mathematical aspects of Quantum Information, fostering interactions between established experts and early-career researchers from the Iberian mathematical community and beyond.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: quantum information; quantum computation and quantum algorithms; quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing, quantum machine learning, quantum communication and cryptography and experimental quantum information.
Type of contributions
Both theoretical and applied contributions are welcome. Contributions may be presented in English (preferred), Spanish, or Portuguese. Accepted contributions will be presented as 30-minute oral communications.
Timeline and submission
Expressions of interest should be sent by the 20 of July 2026 to both session organizers (jmhernandez@uniovi.es and emmanuel.cruzeiro@lx.it.pt) and should include:
- Title of the contribution
- Author(s), clearly indicating the presenting author
- E-mail address
- Institutional affiliation
- An abstract of no more than two pages, prepared using the provided LATEX template
All submissions will be reviewed by the session organizers. Authors will be notified of the outcome by early September 2026. Information on proceedings or extended publication opportunities will be provided upon acceptance.
