The research team coordinated by Jose A. López Calbet, from the Department of Physical Education, and Research Institute of Biomedical and Health Sciences (IUIBS), University of Las Palmas Gran Canaria, Las Palmas Gran Canaria, Spain, managed to perform a pioneering evaluation. This is the first thermodilution assessment of lower extremity blood flow and cardiac output ever performed on a human being during running. The running data are compared with those obtained during cycling.
In supplementary material, a high-resolution video (400 Mb) is available for free download and use for any purpose.
