La canci\u00f3n de autor se aborda desde un punto de vista amplio. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-bright-blue-background-color\">Se llevar\u00e1 a cabo en el mes de noviembre, del 15 al 18, y depender\u00e1 de las condiciones pand\u00e9micas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-yellow-background-color\"><strong><em>Espa\u00f1ol<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-yellow-background-color\"><strong><em>Oprimidos por las formas de la belleza<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Jornadas internacionales sobre Leonard Cohen y la canci\u00f3n de autor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La C\u00e1tedra Leonard Cohen, que&nbsp;surge tras la concesi\u00f3n del premio Pr\u00edncipe de Asturias de las Letras al cantautor canadiense en el a\u00f1o 2011, pretende honrar su objetivo principal contribuyendo al conocimiento, investigaci\u00f3n y difusi\u00f3n de la vida y obra de Leonard Cohen mediante la celebraci\u00f3n de un congreso internacional, punto de encuentro para los investigadores espa\u00f1oles y extranjeros. Tambi\u00e9n quiere dedicarse al otro eje fundamental de la C\u00e1tedra, la canci\u00f3n, y en este caso sobre la canci\u00f3n de autor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La definici\u00f3n de cantautor se toma de la propuesta por Tim Wise: \u201cCantautor es un t\u00e9rmino usado desde los a\u00f1os 60 para describir un tipo de m\u00fasico popular que compone e interpreta sus propias canciones, normalmente con acompa\u00f1amiento de guitarra o piano, habitualmente solo pero tambi\u00e9n acompa\u00f1ado por una banda de m\u00fasicos, sobre todo en las grabaciones\u201d. Wise no lo delimita en g\u00e9neros o estilos pero s\u00ed lo enmarca en el concepto de \u201cdisposici\u00f3n performativa\u201d, un compromiso est\u00e9tico y discursivo que los cantautores pueden asumir a lo largo de su carrera, en un \u00fanico \u00e1lbum o en una \u00fanica obra o interpretaci\u00f3n. Por tanto, a pesar de que los&nbsp;<em>mass media<\/em>&nbsp;no definan a algunos creadores como cantautores, la C\u00e1tedra asume esta visi\u00f3n amplia e integradora del fen\u00f3meno de la canci\u00f3n de autor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como sugiere el verso de la canci\u00f3n&nbsp;<em>Chelsea Hotel&nbsp;<\/em>(1974), el trabajo en el Congreso quiere analizar la belleza de las canciones y sus formas. Este es un g\u00e9nero cuya naturaleza interdisciplinar exige trabajos interdisciplinares, pero no solo desde la musicolog\u00eda y la filolog\u00eda, sino desde el an\u00e1lisis hist\u00f3rico, art\u00edstico, sociol\u00f3gico y cultural y tambi\u00e9n como expresi\u00f3n audiovisual en forma de utilizaci\u00f3n de s\u00edmbolos o im\u00e1genes en car\u00e1tulas de discos, desde videoclips o desde las pel\u00edculas documentales que se han dedicado a las canciones de autor. En consecuencia, se invita a la comunidad acad\u00e9mica a participar desde cualquiera de estos puntos de vista en estas jornadas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El periodo temporal en que se centra el Congreso parte de los a\u00f1os 60 a la actualidad. Los temas para las colaboraciones son los siguientes (sin ser excluyentes):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Leonard Cohen y su obra.<\/li><li>Pasado, presente y futuro de la canci\u00f3n de autor.<\/li><li>Gesti\u00f3n.<\/li><li>Historia e historiograf\u00eda.<\/li><li>An\u00e1lisis musical.<\/li><li>An\u00e1lisis audiovisual.<\/li><li>An\u00e1lisis literario.<\/li><li>Traducciones.<\/li><li>G\u00e9nero: Hombres y mujeres en la canci\u00f3n de autor.<\/li><li>Intertextualidad (textos po\u00e9ticos o musicales).<\/li><li>Tradici\u00f3n en la canci\u00f3n de autor.<\/li><li>Pedagog\u00eda (su uso como herramienta did\u00e1ctica).<\/li><li>Interrelaciones creativas entre distintos pa\u00edses.<\/li><li>Identidades (nacionales, regionales, de g\u00e9nero).<\/li><li>Discursos pol\u00edticos y de compromiso social.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Los idiomas del congreso son espa\u00f1ol e ingl\u00e9s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-white-background-color\">Env\u00edos de t\u00edtulo y resumen de la comunicaci\u00f3n de no m\u00e1s de 250 palabras y breve CV de 100 palabras m\u00e1ximo a: <strong>catedraleonardcohen@uniovi.es<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lugar: Edificio hist\u00f3rico de la Universidad de Oviedo (Oviedo, Asturias)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadline: 9 de mayo de 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-bright-blue-background-color\">The Leonard Cohen Chair organizes an International Conference about the work and life of Leonard Cohen and the work of singer-songwriters.&nbsp; Plenary session will be headed for Dr. Alexandra Pleshoyano, Academic Ambassador for the Leonard Cohen Estate and Archive, and University Professor of University of Sherbrooke (Canada).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-bright-blue-background-color\">It will be scheduled to take place in November, on dates yet to be decided, and the attendance will be semipresential, which will depend on pandemic conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-yellow-background-color\"><strong><em>English&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-yellow-background-color\"><strong><em>O<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>ppressed by the Figures of Beauty<\/em><\/strong><strong>: International Conference on Leonard Cohen and&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>on the work of singer-songwriters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Leonard Cohen Chair, founded after the Canadian singer-songwriter received the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature in 2011, aims to honour its main objective by contributing to the knowledge, research, and dissemination of Leonard Cohen&#8217;s life and work at an International Conference. This symposium also aims to work on the other fundamental axis of the Chair, the song, and in this case, on the work of singer-songwriters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The definition of singer-songwriter is taken from Tim Wise: \u00abSinger-songwriter is a term used since the 1960s to describe a category of popular musician who composes and performs his or her own songs, typically to acoustic guitar or piano accompaniment, most often as a solo act but also with backing musicians, especially in recordings\u00bb.&nbsp;Singer-songwriters are not limited to a genre or a style, but they are framed by the concept of a specific \u00abperforming disposition\u00bb. This \u201cperforming disposition\u201d is described as a set of&nbsp;aesthetic and rhetorical principles that can be deployed by musicians throughout their entire career, in a whole album or in a single performance or recording. Therefore, although the mass media may not define some creators as singer-songwriters, the Chair&nbsp;applies&nbsp;this broad and integrating vision of the phenomenon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the verse of&nbsp;<em>Chelsea Hotel<\/em>\u2019s song (1974) suggests, this Conference aims to analyse the beauty of songs and their forms. This is a genre whose interdisciplinary nature requires interdisciplinary work, not only from&nbsp;the perspective of musicology and philology,&nbsp;but also from a historical, artistic, sociological or cultural analysis. This analysis should&nbsp;also consider the song a form of audio-visual expression:&nbsp;from the use of symbols and images on record covers to videoclips and documentary films dedicated to singer-songwriter songs. Thus, the academic community is invited to participate from any of these points of view.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Conference focuses on the time period going from the 1960s to the present day.
