The Editors of Economics and Business Letters are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for a Special Issue on Advances in Environmental Policy Instruments. The special issue will appear in June 2020 with Jaume Freire-Gonzalez (ENT Foundation) and Francisco J. Delgado (University of Oviedo) as Editors-in-Charge.



The topics of interest for this special issue are about, but are not limited to, within the environmental policy context and both in theoretical and/or empirical papers:

  • Taxation.

  • Agreements.

  • Trading.

  • Carbon pricing, including carbon taxation and cap-and-trade systems.

  • Individual voluntary actions.

  • Environmental tax reforms.

  • Assessment of environmental policies, methods and models: cost-benefit analysis, input-output analysis, computable general equilibrium modelling, integrated assessment modelling, agent-based modelling.


We kindly encourage authors to submit their work to EBL following the “guidelines for authors”, and to use the on-line submission system at: Original manuscripts (max. 2,500 words excluding abstract, references, figures and tables) will be selected through the regular double-blind review process of EBL with at least two referees. Please include the following sentence in your cover letter: “For Special Issue 2020-2 Advances in Environmental Policy Instruments”.


  • Submission of papers: November 30, 2019
  • Notification of decisions: February 15, 2020
  • Submission of revised papers: April 15, 2020
  • Notification of final decisions: May 15, 2020
