Since 2009 she has been a professor in the Department of Sociology II (Social Structure) at the National University of Distance Education, where she teaches on various Master\u2019s, Undergraduate and Degree courses related to Rural Sociology, Territorial Development, and Agrifood Systems.<br \/>\nHer areas of research are in the field of food sociology and rural sociology. In recent years she has participated in publicly funded research projects in the field of food, social sciences, and environmental development. \u201cLas marcas de calidad en el mundo rural: nuevos retos para productores y consumidores\u201d (\u201cQuality branding in the rural world: new challenges for producers and consumers\u201d, 2015\u201317); \u201cPatrones de consumo de alimentos tradicionales en M\u00e9xico y sellos de calidad\u201d (\u201cConsumption patterns of traditional foods in Mexico and seals of quality\u201d, 2015\u201317); \u201cLa comida invisible. Social representations of food systems\u201d, 2011\u201314); \u201cTerritorio, calidad e innovaci\u00f3n: el dise\u00f1o de una nueva ruralidad europea\u201d (\u201cLand, quality, and innovation: the design of a new European rurality\u201d, 2007\u201310). This has led her to collaborate with researchers from other Spanish universities (the University of Seville, University of Cadiz, University of the Basque Country) and with foreign centres (Universidad Aut\u00f3noma del Estado de M\u00e9xico, Universidade Federal de Santa Mar\u00eda and Universidade Federal de Pelotas in Brazil, CIRAD in France).<br \/>\nShe has published articles that analyse social food movements based on the concept of food citizenship (see Italian Sociological Review, 2014). Her studies on the perception that different actors in the food chain have of food labelling include articles in Revista Economia Agricola (2012), as well as her analyses related to seals of quality for food in the Spanish Journal of Rural Development (2015) and Econom\u00eda Agr\u00edcola (2012). A particular interest has been organic agriculture, and this has been reflected in various publications\u2014Gazeta de Antropolog\u00eda (2013); Revista Iberoamericana de Econom\u00eda Ecol\u00f3gica (2014); Sviluppo locale (2012)\u2014as well as two books: El sabor de la naturaleza: agricultura ecol\u00f3gica en Parques Naturales Andaluces (\u201cThe flavour of nature: organic agriculture in Andalusian Natural Parks\u201d, 2011) and Agricultura Ecol\u00f3gica y \u201cSegura\u201d.
