Verónica Naranjo-Quintero is Colombian, a Menstrual Therapist and Educator, and a PhD Candidate in Gender and Diversity at the University of Oviedo. She has a Master’s degree in Bioethics and an undergraduate degree in Theology. Her research focuses on menstrual pain and health from the perspective of self-management and natural gynaecology. She also researches decolonial theories of the body and illness at the intersection of Medical Humanities and Bioethics. She has published several articles on the topic of menstruation, women and pain.
In 2006 shepublished the book Deconstrucción y construcción del cuerpo de la mujer en las técnicas de reproducción asistida humana. Una perspectiva bioética y teológica [Deconstruction and Construction of the Woman’s Body in Human Assisted Reproductive Techniques. A Bioethical and Theological Perspective]. She is a member of the Colombian Association of Women Theologians, the International Network of Theological Ethics (CTEWC) and the Research-Creation and Ecology of Practices Node of the AbyaYala Network of Visual Culture Studies. She is also the creator of the autonomous menstrual health and education project Úteras Vibrantes.
