Second seminar in Lyon (France)

On September 13-14, the second seminar of the Q.THEATRE project took place in Lyon (France). On the first day, the Instituto Cervantes of Lyon hosted presentations by the Professor Emmanuelle Garnier and several members of the work team of the project.

Emmanuelle Garnier (Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès) considered the challenges of adapting Don Quixote, as well as working on these adaptations.  Aaron M. Kahn (University of Sussex), Agapita Jurado (Università degli Studi di Firenze), and Guillermo Carrascón (Università degli Studi di Torino) reflected on the translations of quixotic recreations into English and Italian. Emmanuel Marigno (Université de Lyon – Saint-Étienne) and Maria Fernanda de Abreu (FCSH Universidade Nova de Lisboa) looked over the quixotic recreations in France and Portugal, respectively, and María Fernández Ferreiro (Universidad de Oviedo) analyzed the different ways of dealing with the adaptation of the Cervantes’ novel.

The theatrical company Le Théâtre Libre presented the team and the play that they will stage in the spring of next year 2019.

On the same day we had the pleasure of counting on the presence of the artist Felipe Alarcón Echenique, who inaugurated his exhibition «Recreaciones del Quijote cervantino con ADN cubano» in the Instituto Cervantes of Lyon.

The second day was reserved for the partners meeting, hosted at the Maison Internationale des Langues et des Cultures (MILC).
