The Asturias airport is 48 km away from Gijón/Xixón (approx. 35 minutes), linking it to the main Spanish cities and other European destinations. More European and international connections are available through the neighbouring airports of Santander, Bilbao and Madrid.

There are three options to travel from the airport to the city:

• TAXI: There is a taxi stop at the airport itself which remains in service until the arrival of the last flight. Taxi fares: €45-60 to/from the Airport.
• BUS: ALSA covers the trip between the airport and Gijón/Xixón. Bus fares: € 9.00 Single, € 18.00 Return. Daily departures from the airport at 7.00, 8.00, 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00, 16.00, 17.00, 18.00, 19.00, 20.30, 22.00 and 23.20 h.
• CAR RENTAL: Three companies (Avis, Europcar and Enterprise) provide their services offering a wide timetable (Also having offices in Gijón/Xixón). The airport is connected to Gijón/Xixón by motorway (A-8). Traffic is right-hand in Spain.
