AIR CONNECTION

The Asturias Airport (IATA Code: OVD) is located in the town of Santiago del Monte.

Air connections with the main Spanish cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Malaga.

Direct flights nowadays working only with Paris and London (Vueling) , but it has been announced that in Summer 2022 they will start connections to Düsseldorf, Brussels, and Rome (Ryanair), Amsterdam (Vueling) and Milano-Bergamo (Volotea). Other nearby airports are: Santander (about 2 hours of driving distance) and Bilbao (about 3 hours of driving distance), which are also connected with more International destinations. The ALSA bus company offers direct coaches to Gijón from Santander and Bilbao airports.

How to get from the airport to Gijon?

The Airport is located 48 km from Gijón (about 35 minutes), connected by a motorway (A-8). Three options to get to the city:

TAXI: In the same airport there is a taxi rank, which remains in service until the arrival of the last flight. Amount by Taxi: €45 – €60 to/from Gijón.

BUS: The ALSA (www.alsa.es) company offers daily coach services Gijón Airport – Gijón. Price of the bus: €9.00, departures every hour.

CAR RENTAL: Four companies provide their services with extensive hours (they also have offices in Gijón): Avis, Europcar, Hertz Spain, Nacional Atesa

RAILWAY

Rail services that daily connect Gijón with Madrid (about 5 hours) and other cities in Spain by RENFE (www.renfe.com).

Please note that there is no train connection between Gijón and the Asturias Airport
