The talks deal with various problems that arise from the analysis of the optimal control of partial differential equations and associated numerical methods. Some of them deal with specific applications of optimal control, such as phase field models, obstacle problems, Stokes problems, or wave form inversion. Other talks are devoted to aspects of non-smoothness or to special types of controls, e.g. functions of bounded variation, bang-bang controls, or Dirichlet boundary controls. Another part of the contributions discusses numerical methods, namely error estimates or the converges of semismooth Newton methods. Moreover, specific difficulties are considered that are due to non-coercive problems or the numerics in non-convex spatial domains. The minisymposium will confirm ongoing progress in the numerical analysis of PDE control.
