
Prof. Nerea Bordel successfully defended Spain’s application to host the 11th Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (EMSLIBS) alongside Prof. José Miguel Vadillo (UMA). As a result, the 11th EMSLIBS will be held in parallel with the Colloquium Spectroscopicum Internationale XLII (CSI) in Gijón (Spain) in 2021, with GELP as one of the organizers. Luis Fernández from the Laser and Plasma Spectroscopy Group has been awarded by the XXXVII Biannual Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics. This award is given to the best original research work developed during the PhD studies. Luis will present this work in an oral lecture at the XXXVII Biannual Meeting of Spanish Royal Society of Physics, which will be held in Zaragoza (Spain) from 15th to 19th (July 2019) Congratulations Luis!

Jorge Pisonero is doing a short stay (May 2019) as Visiting Professor at Sichuan University in Chengdu (China). He is hosted by the Research Group of Prof. Yixiang Duan, member of the 1,000 Talents Plan of the Chinese Government. Moreover, he is a Lecturer at the School of Manufacturing Engineers (teaching undergraduate students).
