Short Bio

Sergio González Begega (PhD.) is a Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology of the University of Oviedo. He is a member of the research networks PROMEBI (Uniovi), WP-E and GoodCorp (ETUI) and external expert for EUROFOUND. He has enjoyed research fellowships at CSU-CNRS (France), ETUI-REHS (Belgium), MBS-University of Manchester (United Kingdom), and IPP-CSIC (Spain). He is co-PI of the research project SODITREC (www.soditrec.eu) and member of the research projects AUNAS and PROVILA. His research lines include European industrial relations, social dialogue and industrial conflict and compared social policy. He was distinguished with the PhD Extraordinary Award by the Spanish Economic and Social Council. He has published book chapters in edited books with Oxford University Press, Edward Elgar, Routledge, PIE Lang or Rainer Hampp Verlag, among others. He has also published articles in journals such as Social Movement Studies, Transfer, Employee Relations, Critical Perspectives on International Business, REIS, RIS and RES, among others.

Sergio González Begega es Profesor Titular del Departamento de Sociología de la Universidad de Oviedo. Es miembro de los grupos de investigación PROMEBI (Uniovi), WPE y GoodCorp (ETUI) y experto externo de EUROFOUND. Ha llevado a cabo estancias como investigador invitado en el CSU-CNRS (Francia), ETUI (Bélgica), MBS-University of Manchester (Reino Unido) e IPP-CSIC (España). Actualmente, es co-IP del proyecto europeo SODITREC (www.soditrec.eu) e integrante de los proyectos nacionales AUNAS y PROVILA. Sus líneas de investigación incluyen las relaciones laborales europeas, el diálogo social y el conflicto laboral y la política social comparada. Su tesis doctoral recibió el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado del Consejo Económico y Social de España. Es autor de capítulos de libro publicados por editoriales como Edward Elgar, Routledge, Oxford University Press, Peter Lang, ETUI y Rainer Hampp Verlag, entre otras. También ha publicado artículos en revistas académicas como Employee Relations, Social Movement Studies, Economic and Industrial Democracy, Transfer, Critical Perspectives on International Business, REIS, RIS y RES, entre otras.
