The University of Oviedo, with the support of Caja Rural de Asturias, offers students from the Faculty of Economics and Business the opportunity to collaborate in an educational project aimed at bringing financial literacy closer to younger generations.
As part of the project FinEduca360: Youth for Youth, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business will deliver a one-hour financial education talk in a secondary school in Asturias. These talks will take place throughout the 2025/2026 academic year and will be aimed at students in compulsory secondary education and upper secondary education (ESO and Bachillerato).
In addition, the participating students will attend training workshops held in the “Garaje” space of the Faculty of Economics and Business, delivered by professionals from Caja Rural de Asturias, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the Bank of Spain, faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Business, and students who took part in previous editions. The total duration of the training workshops will be under 10 hours.
This project, promoted by the Finance and Corporate Governance Research Group at the University of Oviedo and Caja Rural de Asturias through its youth brand FYIN, forms part of the activities developed by the University of Oviedo as a collaborating institution in the Financial Education Plan, promoted by the Bank of Spain, the CNMV, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Trade and Enterprise.
Participants will receive an official certificate recognising their involvement in the training and teaching activities. In addition, undergraduate students will be awarded 1 ECTS credit under the category of cultural, sporting, student representation, solidarity, or cooperation-related university activities.
If you are currently enrolled in the third year (or higher) of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, or Economics, in the joint degree in Law and Business Administration, in a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business, or in a PhD programme in the field of Economics and Business, and you are interested in joining this initiative, you only need to complete the following form before 17 October 2025: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSL8bpA02OoZKL1IUMtl8w6bBJx9Emg2I8DZDm7oLvwkj0FA/viewform

With your help, we will foster financial literacy among young Asturians, promoting more sensible and informed financial behaviour. Some worrying facts about young people:
- One in four students does not reach the basic level of financial literacy.
- They tend to adopt less prudent financial behaviours than adults.
- They are attracted to high-risk assets, such as crypto-assets.
- They rely on social media for financial information.
- They frequently carry out financial transactions via websites and apps, increasing their exposure to fraud.
We look forward to your participation. Thank you very much!
