II Conference on Economic Violence and Financial Health: Challenges, Solutions and Legal Advances

    Next Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, the II Conference “Economic Violence and Financial Health: Challenges, Solutions and Legal Advances” will take place at the Main Hall (Aula Magna) of the University of Oviedo. The event is organized by the Finance and Corporate Governance Research Group and the Nantik Lum Foundation, with the support of the Vice-Rectorate for Strategic Planning and Campus Coordination, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (Project: PID2022-140023NA-I00).

    Start of the “Sin Género de Dudas” University Extension Programme

      In October 2025, the University Extension Programme “Sin Género de Dudas: cuestiones de género con perspectiva económica y jurídica” began for the 2025-2026 academic year in Riosa (Principality of Asturias). The programme is jointly directed by Irma Martínez García, a member of our research group, and Beatriz Vázquez Rodríguez.

      Third Edition of FinEduca360: Youth for Youth

        The University of Oviedo, with the support of Caja Rural de Asturias, offers students from the Faculty of Economics and Business the opportunity to collaborate in an educational project aimed at bringing financial literacy closer to younger generations. As part of the project FinEduca360: Youth for Youth, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business will deliver a one-hour financial education talk in a secondary school in Asturias. These talks will take place throughout the 2025/2026 academic year and will be aimed at students in compulsory secondary education and upper secondary education (ESO and Bachillerato).

        Start of the course “Leaving no one behind: Addressing the 2030 Agenda from an intergenerational perspective” (PUMUO)

          In September 2025, the course “Leaving no one behind: Addressing the 2030 Agenda from an intergenerational perspective” begins as part of the University Programme for Older Learners of the University of Oviedo (PUMUO). The course is delivered during the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year in Oviedo, and Irma Martínez García, a member of our research group, participates in the teaching.

          Participation in the European Researchers’ Night 2025

            On 26 September 2025, members of our research group took part in the European Researchers’ Night of the University of Oviedo, organised by the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+I), through the stand “Con-CIENCIA-dos frente a los grandes retos globales. ¡Tú eres el protagonista!”.

            Our course on personal finance begins at PUMUO in Oviedo

              Last Monday, 15 September, marked the beginning of the first semester of the University Programme for Older Adults of the University of Oviedo (PUMUO), held at its Oviedo campus. From our research group, we would like to thank all participants for the excellent reception of our course “The financial 50+: Personal finance and financial health at maturity”, which will be part of the programme’s academic offer and has a total of 60 enrolled participants.

              New article published in Spanish Accounting Review

                In July 2025, the article “The influence of corporate governance characteristics on the readability of corporate social responsibility reports written in Spanish” was published, with contributions from Irma Martínez García and María Asunción Sacristán Navarro, members of our research group.
