FinEduca360: Youth for Youth (1st edition, 2023-2024 academic year)

This first edition of the project “FinEduca360: Youth for Youth”, developed during the 2023-2024 academic year, was funded by the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation (INIE) of the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching Staff Policies of the University of Oviedo.

It involved 14 university students from the Bachelor’s degrees in Management and Business Administration, Economics, and the PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law, as well as from the Master’s Degree in Economics: Economic Analysis Instruments.

During the training phase, participants attended 5 workshops delivered by professionals from the Spanish Association of Financial Advisers and Planners (EFPA Spain), the Spanish Securities and Markets Commission (CNMV), and teaching staff from the Faculty of Economics and Business affiliated to the Finance and Corporate Governance Research Group.

Subsequently, during May and June 2024, a total of 10 talks entitled “My finances: How to take care of them?” were delivered in 9 educational centres in Asturias, reaching 161 students from Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training:

  • On 10 May 2024, Esther Menéndez González, a 5th-year student of the PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law, returned to her former centre, IES Carreño Miranda (Avilés), delivering the talk to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 14 May 2024, Álvaro Baena Huerta and Ana Fanjul Álvarez, 3rd-year Management and Business Administration and 4th-year PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law students, respectively, returned to their former centre, Colegio Santa María del Naranco Alter (Oviedo), delivering the talk to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 15 May 2024, Ignacio Tascón Amo, a student of the Master’s Degree in Economics: Economic Analysis Instruments, visited IES Río Nora (Siero), delivering the talk to students in 1st of Baccalaureate.
  • On 17 May 2024, Carmen Cuevas Sánchez and Mario Solares Fernández, 5th-year students of the PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law, returned to their former centre, Colegio San Ignacio (Oviedo), delivering the talk to students in 1st of Baccalaureate.
  • On 28 May 2024, Marina Martínez Sánchez and Mario Solares Fernández, 5th-year students of the PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law, visited IES Peñamayor (Nava), delivering the talk to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 29 May 2024, Nadia Álvarez García and Ignacio Tascón Amo, 5th-year PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law and Master’s Degree in Economics: Economic Analysis Instruments students, respectively, visited IES Alto Nalón (Barredos), delivering the talk to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 28 and 29 May 2024, Andrea de la Torre Gutiérrez and Sergio Fuertes Álvarez, 5th-year PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law and 4th-year Economics students, respectively, visited IES Universidad Laboral (Gijón), delivering two talks to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 4 June 2024, Carla Iglesias Lastra and Borja Javier Hevia Rodríguez, 3rd-year Management and Business Administration and 4th-year Economics students, respectively, visited IES César Rodríguez (Grado), delivering the talk to students in 4th of ESO.
  • On 5 June 2024, Juan Toraño Cueto and Alejandro Trénor Guisasola, 5th-year students of the PCEO in Management and Business Administration and Law, visited IES Fernández Vallín (Gijón), delivering the talk to students in Vocational Training.
