Last Wednesday, January 8, the Corporate Finance and Governance Research Group coordinated the participation of students from the University of Oviedo’s Senior University Program (PUMUO) in the workshop “HazQTRente: Understand Your Finances, Decide Your Future”, held at the Bank of Spain’s Oviedo branch. The attendees were students from the courses “50+ Financials: Personal Finance and Financial Health in Maturity” and “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Legal and Economic Perspectives”.
The workshop covered essential aspects of effective personal finance management, including financial planning, responsible consumption, debt management, fraud prevention, and an introduction to cryptocurrencies. Additionally, participants enjoyed a hands-on activity where they learned to identify security features on banknotes and distinguish genuine notes from counterfeit ones.
This initiative, dynamic and interactive in nature, combined theoretical presentations with explanatory videos, gamification tools, and a final quiz to reinforce learning, encouraging active participation from attendees.
We thank the Bank of Spain for their collaboration in this activity, which strengthens our group’s commitment to financial education and lifelong learning, providing attendees with a valuable and inclusive educational experience.
