Participation in the round table: “Roots and Legacies: What can we learn from the Successes and Failures of Family Businesses?”

    Next Monday, January 20, at 6:00 PM, the Madrid Association of Economists will host a round table titled “Roots and Legacies: What can we learn from the Successes and Failures of Family Businesses?”. Among the speakers is María Sacristán Navarro, a researcher from our group, Professor of Business Organization at the Rey Juan Carlos University, and Vice President of the Family Business Section of ACEDE, who will present the talk “Corporate Governance in Family Businesses”.

    Joining her will be Verónica Montijano García, interior designer at the family business Mariano García, Muebles y Decoración, who will share the lessons learned from her professional journey; Fernando Nogales, General Director of FMNogales, who will discuss lessons derived from cases of success and failure in family businesses; and María José Sánchez-Bueno, a professor accredited as a full professor at University Charles III of Madrid, who will address strategies and organizational objectives in family businesses.

    The event will also feature moderation by Enrique Castelló, President of the Business and Entrepreneurship Forum, and Clara Isabel García-Suelto Huerta, President of the Economics Teaching Commission.

    The round table will take place in a hybrid format, with an in-person session at the headquarters of the Madrid Association of Economists, Flora Street 1, and online participation to facilitate broader engagement.

    This round table promises to be a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences, offering valuable insights into the importance of corporate governance and sustainability in the business world.
