PhD in Social Sciences. Master’s Degree in Rural Development. Professor in the Postgraduate Programmes in Rural Development (PGDR) and Regional Dynamics and Development (PGDREDES), both at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Coordinating Secretary of the Rural Studies Network (2019-2021), Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Rural Economics, Administration and Sociology (SOBER 2019-2023) and member of the Steering Committee of the Network of Public Policies and Rural Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (PP-AL Network – 2017-2022). Member of the State Council for Food and Nutritional Security – CONSEA-Rio Grande do Sul. She has experience in the areas of Social Sciences, Sociology and Politics, with emphasis in the fields of rural sociology, public policies and rural development. She develops studies and research on the following topics: family farming, public policies for family farming, rural development, food and nutrition security and food policies.

Research projects under the coordination of the researcher

  • 2022-2024 – Activismo alimentario y politización alimentaria: un análisis comparativo de las interacciones entre movimientos sociales, mercados y políticas públicas en las regiones metropolitanas brasileñas. Proyecto de investigación con el apoyo del CNPQ y desarrollado por la UFRGS y otras universidades brasilenãs.
  • 2022-2024 – Construyendo capacidades estatales para transformar los sistemas agroalimentarios: un análisis de las políticas alimentarias en las capitales brasileñas. Proyecto de investigación con el apoyo del CNPQ.
  • 2022-2024 Construyendo políticas alimentarias para transformar los sistemas alimentarios en Brasil y España: del activismo alimentario a la configuración de instrumentos de política pública. Proyecto de investigación con el apoyo del CNPQ. 
  • 2020-2023- Projetos Capes-Cofecub – Sistemas Agroalimentares e Políticas Públicas: construção de inovações teóricas e metodológicas para análise de experiências internacionais. Proyecto de cooperación internacional entre universidades brasileñas (UFRGS, UFRRJ, UFSC y Unila) e instituciones francesas (CIRAD y la Universidad Montpellier III).
  • 2020-2021 – Políticas públicas, seguridad alimentaria y sistemas alimentarios sostenibles en América Latina. Proyecto de investigación desarrollado en el ámbito de la Red Politicas Publicas y Desarrollo Rural en América Latina y el Caribe (Red PPAL), un dispositivo que articula varias instituciones de enseñanza e investigación en la Región.
