The Sociological Observation Unit for Food is a research instrument at the disposal of the Sociology of Food Research Group and available to agrifood companies.
It is available to agrifood companies and public institutions to carry out work aimed at exploring the social aspects of food that are of interest to social agents and in line with the Group’s areas of research.
It is supported by the CATI-CAWI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing and e-interview) Survey Service of the Department of Sociology at the University of Oviedo and aims to produce quantitative studies offering the possibility of conducting telephone and web-based surveys.
The Sociological Observation Unit for Food also carries out studies of a qualitative nature to explore the meanings, beliefs, and values that individuals give to their consumer behaviour, based on in-depth interviews and discussion groups.
With these techniques, results are presented through scientific reports in line with the research objectives agreed by the researchers from the group and from the requesting institution or company.
